Video, Social Media & Podcasting

A general project for SOS at ETHS will be to get stories of joy, triumphs, inspiration, achievement, and community service that happen because of students (could be from ETHS or any other school!). We have a page of student accomplishments on the Doc V Physics site, but that is just for his classes. We want to expand this and then some!

Imagine interviews with students of all ages, who have done some amazing work in community service projects, or helping others, or who have had personal, inspiring outcomes by overcoming great challenges, and getting their stories out to the world that would otherwise likely never hear and learn about the story. Imagine getting these onto larger social media and video platforms, and sending out good news and inspiration rather than the 24/7/365 endless submersion in negative stories and news.

And then, imagine doing this with students and educators not just in Evanston, but across the US, as well as overseas! Most have never heard about the Global Student Prize - this developed from the Varkey Foundation after the first few years of the Global Teacher Prize, and run by Chegg, and recognizes and gives global attention to students of high school through college age, who have already done life-changing work on larger scales, despite their young ages! Imagine getting stories like this out, so the world is aware of the goodness in so many people.  Also, think of the inspiration this may give other students who have been thinking what good can they do in the world - by reading about, listening to, and seeing what others like them have figured out how to do something special, exemplars and new ideas will almost certainly blossom in many others!

THIS WILL BE A DEVELOPING PROJECT, and WE HOPE TO GET NUMEROUS STUDENTS INVOLVED IN THIS TO SPREAD JOY, INSPIRATION, SUCCESSES, and IDEAS TO THE MASSES!!

More to come!

If you have done some great work, or know of others who have, send Doc V a message at vondracekm@eths202.org, and we'll see if we can have someone get the good news out to the world!
